Real medievalists may find the experience at Warwick Castle tacky. However, traveling with kids it is great fun to stop\u00a0over at the castle, which is both a very important piece of English heritage and a Medieval Fair Ground offering a multitude of experiences for the young and innocent.<\/p>\n
For some time the possibility has been around to partake in medieval glamping. This offers a sleepover in one of the exclusive, fully set-up, ready-to-sleep Medieval Tents with free next-day tickets and free have-a-go archery and the possibility to take out classes at the Jester\u2019s school and the Knight\u2019s school. Curiously enough there seems to be no offers on for blushing maidens to learn exactly how to tie their ribbon around the lance. Perhaps next year?<\/p>\n
New on offer is now the possibility to stay a bit more comfortable at the Knight\u2019s Village. Here 28 medieval-themed lodges (semi-detached) have been set in a woodland glade next to the River Avon and just a few paces from the castle.<\/p>\n
Woodland Lodges sleep up to five guests in two bedrooms \u2013 one double bed, one set of bunk beds, plus a pull out bed \u2013 and are set on one floor.<\/p>\n
Knight\u2019s Lodges sleep up to seven guests and are set across two storeys, including a mezzanine level with a galleried master bedroom.<\/p>\n
Prices start from \u00a340 per person per night \u2013 or \u00a3203 per lodge \u2013 including breakfast, two-day entry to the castle and themed evening entertainment.<\/p>\n
A medieval feast with live entertainment is served in the banquet hall each evening for \u00a318.95 per adult, \u00a39.95 per child. Including such non-medieval fare as roasted potatoes and penne pasta for the children, there is no reason to be shy.<\/p>\n
Knight\u2019s Village offers year-round accommodation and all lodges offer en-suite facilities, TV, tea and coffee-making facilities, and central heating, with free wi-fi throughout.<\/p>\n
