\"Context_143\"<\/a>The IHBC is a joint supporter of the forthcoming IHBC CPD-recognised Building Limes Forum (BLF) conference, on 2-4 September in Liverpool, also offering delegates free copies\u00a0of the \u2018Building with Earth and Clay issue of Context<\/em><\/a>.<\/h3>\n

IHBC Director Se\u00e1n O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018The annual BLF conference<\/a> is a real high-point in the year for many of our members \u2013 even with the organisation led by one or more \u2013 as well as their colleagues, and as always this year it offers a splendid range of speakers, content and visits.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018We\u2019re delighted to be able to continue our support for the conference this year, our third in a row I think.\u00a0 It\u2019s especially relevant as we have made available to delegates free issues of our members\u2019 journal Context<\/em>, and of course it\u2019s \u2018Building with Earth and Clay\u2019 issue.\u2019\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

BLF writes:<\/p>\n

The 2016 Conference and Gathering of the Building Limes Forum will be held in Liverpool from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 September.\u00a0 The venue will be the Liverpool Medical Institution, an unusual and interesting venue with an intimate lecture theatre. The theme for the conference is Lime and Aggregates<\/em> and there will be an emphasis on hands-on demonstrations.<\/p>\n

On Friday there will be lectures and visits to some of the major historical buildings in Liverpool to view conservation projects. Saturday will include practical demonstrations, further lectures with a practical bias and the option of further visits. Sunday morning will be devoted to members\u2019 and delegates\u2019 short presentations with further visits in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

The Baker Memorial Lecture will be delivered on the Friday evening by Cliff Blundell. Cliff is a leader of the lime revival in Wales, specialising in the \u2018re-liming\u2019 of vernacular housing, and he is the author of Precious Inheritance<\/em> and Sustainable Legacy<\/em>.<\/p>\n
