{"id":13295,"date":"2016-07-23T13:16:10","date_gmt":"2016-07-23T12:16:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=13295"},"modified":"2016-07-23T13:16:10","modified_gmt":"2016-07-23T12:16:10","slug":"liverpool-snubs-unesco-request-over-world-heritage-site","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=13295","title":{"rendered":"Liverpool snubs UNESCO request over World Heritage site"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Liverpool City Council has given the cold shoulder to a recommendation from UNESCO that there should be a moratorium on new development within the city\u2019s world heritage site and the surrounding buffer zone as Mayor Joe Anderson has said he will write to the UN body rejecting its request.<\/h3>\n<p>A council spokesman said: \u2018We work extremely hard to balance conservation with the development needs of a growing city, and UNESCO recognises we have made progress in addressing their concerns.
