{"id":12759,"date":"2016-05-16T17:55:49","date_gmt":"2016-05-16T16:55:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=12759"},"modified":"2016-05-16T17:55:49","modified_gmt":"2016-05-16T16:55:49","slug":"call-for-entries-riba-research-awards-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=12759","title":{"rendered":"Call for Entries- RIBA Research Awards 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The RIBA President\u2019s Awards for Research promote and celebrate the best of research in the field of architecture and the built environment that contributes to new knowledge and understanding in architecture and the practice of architecture, with the deadline for submissions is midnight, Thursday, 30 June 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The RIBA writes<\/span>:<br \/>\nThe RIBA is now welcoming entries for the 2016 RIBA President\u2019s Awards for Research which include the new RIBA President\u2019s Research Medal.\u00a0The RIBA will be accepting research submissions from right across the built environment sector and beyond; recognising the interdisciplinary nature of architectural research.<\/p>\n<p>The RIBA President&#8217;s Awards for Research are designed to promote and celebrate the best of research in the field of architecture and the built environment that contributes to new knowledge and understanding in architecture and the practice of architecture. Projects are judged by a distinguished panel of experts in four categories:<br \/>\n\u2022 History and Theory<br \/>\n\u2022 Design and Technical<br \/>\n\u2022 Cities and Community<br \/>\n\u2022 Annual Theme &#8211; Learning through Projects<\/p>\n<p>Submissions are welcome from all levels and spheres of architectural and built environment research. Entries from the prevoius categories of research masters, PhD, university-located academics and practice-based researchers are encouraged, as well as collaborative research projects. Please note the change in submission format detailed below.<\/p>\n<p>The main body of the application requires the submission of:<br \/>\n\u2022 300 word Abstract<br \/>\n\u2022 1,000 word Research Statement<br \/>\n\u2022 5,000 to 10,000 word research document<\/p>\n<p>The President&#8217;s Medal for Research will be awarded to the submission judged to be the best across all categories.
