{"id":11697,"date":"2015-12-16T16:08:34","date_gmt":"2015-12-16T16:08:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=11697"},"modified":"2015-12-15T17:48:40","modified_gmt":"2015-12-15T17:48:40","slug":"consultation-on-changes-to-englands-npp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=11697","title":{"rendered":"Consultation on changes to England\u2019s NPP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><u>New planning regulations proposed in England is now out for consultation, including revisions to the National Planning Policy (NPP) relating to housing issues, with a deadline for responses being 25 January.<\/u><\/p>\n<p><u>DCLG writes:<br \/>\n<\/u>This consultation is seeking views on some specific changes to National Planning Policy in the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>broadening the definition of affordable housing, to expand the range of low cost housing opportunities for those aspiring to own their new home<\/li>\n<li>increasing residential density around commuter hubs, to make more efficient use of land in suitable locations<\/li>\n<li>supporting sustainable new settlements, development on brownfield land and small sites, and delivery of housing allocated in plans<\/li>\n<li>supporting delivery of starter homes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A draft equalities assessment is also being published and this consultation also seeks views on the draft assessment and any additional evidence that should be taken into account.<\/p>\n<p>View the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/consultations\/national-planning-policy-consultation-on-proposed-changes\" target=\"_blank\">news release <\/a>and more information on the proposals<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New planning regulations proposed in England is now out for consultation, including revisions to the National Planning Policy (NPP) relating to housing issues, with a deadline for responses being 25 January.
