{"id":11539,"date":"2015-11-20T17:55:51","date_gmt":"2015-11-20T17:55:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=11539"},"modified":"2015-11-20T17:55:51","modified_gmt":"2015-11-20T17:55:51","slug":"hes-draft-corporate-plan-consultation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=11539","title":{"rendered":"HES draft Corporate Plan consultation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><u>Historic Environment Scotland (HES) has released its first public consultation which is seeking views about the Corporate Plan, by 8 February 2016.<\/u><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>Historic Environment Scotland (HES) writes:<br \/>\n<\/u>People across Scotland are being asked for views on how the past is shaping our present and future.\u00a0 Today (Monday 16th November), Scotland\u2019s new lead heritage body Historic Environment Scotland (HES) launches its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.historic-scotland.gov.uk\/index\/about\/consultations\/hesconsult.htm\">first public consultation on a draft Corporate Plan<\/a>, which outlines the organisation\u2019s approach to safeguarding some of the country\u2019s most precious assets over the next three years.<\/p>\n<p>The new organisation \u2013 which came into effect on the 1st October- has brought together two of Scotland\u2019s leading heritage bodies, Historic Scotland and The Royal Commission on Ancient and Historical Monuments Scotland (RCAHMS) to create a new organisation at the heart of a sector which contributes \u00a32.3 billion annually to Scotland\u2019s GVA and helps to support over 60,000 jobs.<\/p>\n<p>Historic Environment Scotland has over 300 properties in its care ranging from Edinburgh Castle, to hidden gems up and down the country, as well as extensive archives and collections. Its employees have skills ranging from conservation to aerial surveying, allowing the new body to play a key role in helping to deliver Scotland\u2019s first strategy for the Historic Environment, \u2018<a href=\"http:\/\/www.scotland.gov.uk\/Resource\/0044\/00445046.pdf\">Our Place in Time<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>A key aim of the new body, and the strategy, is to work in collaboration with others to engage individuals and groups from volunteers to communities across Scotland, to enhance the cultural, social and economic benefits of Scotland\u2019s heritage.<\/p>\n<p>The consultation launches on 16 November 2015 and will run until week commencing 8 February 2016.
