Just \u2018Call Kate\u2019!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><u><a href=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/General-People.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11396 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/General-People-300x150.jpg\" alt=\"General People\" width=\"184\" height=\"92\" \/><\/a><\/u><u>IHBC members of all categories can help applications for accreditation and their CPD by helping their institute, and all for free, as there is no better or cheaper way than to simply get more involved with our work and help us help your career, all now with the easiest of starting points: just \u2018Call Kate\u2019, and email <\/u><a href=\"mailto:LETS@ihbc.org.uk\">LETS@ihbc.org.uk<\/a><u>!<\/u><\/p>\n<p>IHBC Chair Mike Brown said: \u2018Your institute is the primary specialist advocate for your work and career, so getting involved with us \u2013 and helping us work better on your behalf &#8211; is a brilliant, easy, free and targeted way to build your skills.\u00a0 And as the work can be linked to our Areas of Competence, these can cover any activities, from policy and training to finance and communications.\u00a0 What\u2019s more, much of it can be done from the comfort of your work or home.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018And now we have the simplest of starting points: \u2018Just \u2018Call Kate\u2019, as Kate Kendall, our \u2018LETS\u2019 officer, is able to let you know how your skills can be best put to use for all of us!\u2019<u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n<p><u>How to Help<br \/>\n<\/u>IHBC members can learn new skills or refine existing experience as CPD, and help the IHBC at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>Members can help yourself and your institute by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>learning about our benefits and services, to understand how as a\u00a0member you can best use the IHBC to help your career<\/li>\n<li>helping in our training, to bring your skills and interests to our table, and<\/li>\n<li>getting involved in our voluntary operations, and help our networks of Branches, Committees and members support the work of your colleagues<\/li>\n<li>promoting our activities in your networks, which can be as easy as tapping your mobile!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can check out some select links below, to find out how we work and kick-start your skills and CPD, and just \u2018Call Kate\u2019 and let her know what you might be able to do; simply email <a href=\"mailto:LETS@ihbc.org.uk\" target=\"_blank\">LETS@ihbc.org.uk<\/a>!<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>See what our <a href=\"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/gasa\/\" target=\"_blank\">Gus Astley Student Award <\/a>entails, and offers, so you can raise awareness of its opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Learn how our <a href=\"http:\/\/ihbc.org.uk\/learning\/cpdproviders\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">CPD recognition<\/a> works, and encourage its use across your learning, training and educational networks.<\/li>\n<li>Let us know about local business and tender and business opportunities, and what these entail, so we can add them to our economic data on conservation-related works, by simply emailing <a href=\"mailto:contact@ihbc.org.uk\" target=\"_blank\">contact@ihbc.org.uk<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Find out about how <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/hespr\/\" target=\"_blank\">HESPR<\/a> works, and encourage your employer, business or practice to join if appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Develop your skills in publication or content, by seeing what you might contribute to our membership journal <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/page55\/context\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Context<\/a><\/em> and its production.<\/li>\n<li>Promote the IHBC\u2019s services for employment and training, by making sure your networks use our income-generating \u2018<em><a href=\"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/jobsetc\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jobs etc<\/a><\/em>\u2019 service \u00a0or our free \u2018<a href=\"http:\/\/awards.ihbc.org.uk\" target=\"_blank\">Awards <em>etc<\/em><\/a>\u2019 page for awards, bursaries and the like.<\/li>\n<li>Suggest events to our members, including those where IHBC membership leaflets might be circulated, including for Jobs <em>etc <\/em>and HESPR, even attend select events or host IHBC stands, with travel costs refunded.
