{"id":1139,"date":"2010-03-10T13:59:34","date_gmt":"2010-03-10T13:59:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=1139"},"modified":"2010-03-24T13:59:49","modified_gmt":"2010-03-24T13:59:49","slug":"clg-1m-for-rural-councils%e2%80%99-masterplanning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=1139","title":{"rendered":"CLG: \u00a31m for rural councils\u2019 masterplanning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A \u00a31m fund for rural communities will be  shared among 36 councils with the best ideas, following a competition  run by Communities and Local Government, Department for Environment,  Food and Rural Affairs, CABE and the Homes and Communities Agency.<\/p>\n<p>The  rural masterplanning fund will be used to prepare sustainable plans for  community extensions, such as one for 1,000 homes, a school, businesses  and recreation space in North Northallerton, North Yorkshire.<br \/>\nIt was  announced by government as a response to the Taylor Review on rural  communities in 2008, which recommended new policies for market towns at  risk from unsympathetic development and homogenous housing estates.
