{"id":11345,"date":"2015-10-23T18:35:49","date_gmt":"2015-10-23T17:35:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=11345"},"modified":"2015-10-23T18:35:49","modified_gmt":"2015-10-23T17:35:49","slug":"ihbc-contributes-to-icomos-irelands-views-on-capacity-building","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=11345","title":{"rendered":"IHBC contributes to ICOMOS Ireland\u2019s \u2018Views on capacity building\u2026\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><u>IHBC Director Se\u00e1n O\u2019Reilly has offered the IHBC\u2019s perspectives on conservation standards for skills, training and professional development as part of a wide-ranging exploration of conservation capacity in a conference in Dublin on 16 October.<\/u><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The conference was jointly organised by Dublin City Council and ICOMOS Ireland National Scientific Committee on Education and Training, with the support of the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. The extensive programme, which took place in Oak Room, Mansion House, Dawson Street, explored the theme of \u2018Views on capacity-building in heritage conservation training and practice\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Se\u00e1n O\u2019Reilly spoke to the theme of \u2018Capacity-building and conservation accreditation in an inter-disciplinary institute\u2019, joining a wide-range of heritage practitioners, explaining how the IHBC\u2019s Conservation Cycle and the Areas of Competence are used to assess competence.<\/p>\n<p>Sessions covered issues such as the importance of dedicated conservation skills in delivering sustainable results, to Ireland\u2019s unique \u2018Register of Heritage Contractors\u2019.
