{"id":1057,"date":"2010-02-12T13:38:29","date_gmt":"2010-02-12T13:38:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=1057"},"modified":"2010-03-24T13:38:45","modified_gmt":"2010-03-24T13:38:45","slug":"ihbc-welcomes-eh%e2%80%99s-%e2%80%98her21%e2%80%99-funding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=1057","title":{"rendered":"IHBC welcomes EH\u2019s \u2018HER21\u2019 funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>IHBC Director, Se\u00e1n O\u2019Reilly, welcomed  English Heritage\u2019s new funding programme, \u2018Developing Historic  Environment Records for the 21st Century\u2019, for the contribution it will  make to modernising conservation processes in planning.<\/p>\n<p>Se\u00e1n  O\u2019Reilly said: &#8220;We\u2019re delighted that this significant block of research  funding \u2013 some \u00a3400,000 &#8211; is directed specifically towards the  modernisation of Historic Environment Records. \u00a0We\u2019ve partnered in  shaping this programme, and we\u2019d encourage anyone to explore how their  work on information, records, buildings and history might be helped by  this opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>We hope that this money will help transform a  too-little known specialist tool into a key resource for all  stakeholders involved in planning and conservation issues. \u00a0Equally,  we\u2019re keen to help make sure that as wide a constituency as possible  participates in this programme, but it\u2019s a tight timescale and, for many  prospective applicants, an unknown funding programme. \u00a0So be sure to  let your colleagues know about this, and to explore options and  partnerships as far as possible to help resolve any hurdles.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>English  Heritage writes:<br \/>\n&#8216;As of 15th February 2010 English Heritage opened  this new scheme within its Historic Environment Enabling Programme,  making available, in 2010\/11, a total of \u00a3400,000 towards research and  development into Historic Environment Records (HERs), to help owners and  users bring HERs into line with planned Heritage Protection Reform.<\/p>\n<p>However,  the majority of the funding will be available as grants accessed via  applications to the Historic Environment Enabling Programme. The details  can be found in the HER21 Scheme document.<\/p>\n<p>The grants scheme is  for one year only and all projects must be complete by<br \/>\nMarch 15th  2011.<\/p>\n<p>Please read the Scheme details carefully if you are  considering an application. Please also ensure you are familiar with EH  Project Management Guidance (<a title=\"http:\/\/www.english-heritage.org.uk\/MoRPHE\" href=\"http:\/\/www.english-heritage.org.uk\/MoRPHE\">www.english-heritage.org.uk\/MoRPHE<\/a>)  and HEEP Guidance for Applicants.<\/p>\n<p>We will issue tenders for some  of this work.
