{"id":1053,"date":"2010-02-12T13:37:29","date_gmt":"2010-02-12T13:37:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=1053"},"modified":"2010-03-24T13:37:45","modified_gmt":"2010-03-24T13:37:45","slug":"alternative-to-court-for-environmental-criminals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=1053","title":{"rendered":"Alternative to court for environmental criminals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Environment Agency and Natural  England have become the first regulators to be given new civil powers  that will give them greater flexibility to enforce environmental law.<\/p>\n<p>The  range of new civil powers given under the Regulatory Enforcement and  Sanctions Act 2008 will increase the options available to regulators and  include fixed and variable monetary penalties and compliance notices.
