Ruth Mackenzie, currently Cultural Policy Advisor at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, is to become the Director of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. Previous roles include General Director of the Manchester International Festival, Artistic Director of the Chichester Festival Theatre and Director of Scottish Opera.<\/p>\n
Leading the LOCOG Culture team, Ruth will report to Cultural Olympiad Chair Tony Hall and the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad Board. She will be supported by a team of artistic advisers who will continue in their current roles: Martin Duncan (freelance theatre and opera director), Craig Hassall (Managing Director of English National Ballet), Sir Brian McMaster (Director of the Edinburgh International Festival 1991-2006) and Alex Poots (Director of Manchester International Festival).<\/p>\n
