The awards presentation for the RTPI Planning Awards 2009 took place on Thursday 4 February 2010 at the London Hilton, in a ceremony attended by Ann Skippers, President of the RTPI and Bob Neill MP, Shadow Minister for Local Government and Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party.<\/p>\n
Congratulations were offered to all the winners, in particular the Victoria Square Regeneration Project, Belfast – \u00a0winner of the Silver Jubilee Cup, the planning world’s top accolade for excellent planning.<\/p>\n
The groundbreaking city-centre regeneration project has been awarded the Silver Jubilee Cup, the UK\u2019s top planning prize, in a ceremony celebrating the best planning projects across the UK and Ireland.<\/p>\n
At the ceremony, awards were also given for outstanding projects and developments in categories such as town centre regeneration, climate change and heritage.<\/p>\n
Heritage winners, with the award sponsored by English Heritage, were the Castle Howard Conservation Management Plan and Development Framework, by the Castle Howard Estate and Gardyne’s Land, Dundee, by Dundee City Council.<\/p>\n
The 100 Years of Planning Achievement award went to the University of Liverpool Department of Civic Design, the world\u2019s first university planning school, established in 1909, for its \u2018immeasurable\u2019 \u00a0contribution to planning.<\/p>\n
