{"id":10360,"date":"2015-05-29T17:41:25","date_gmt":"2015-05-29T16:41:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=10360"},"modified":"2015-05-29T17:41:25","modified_gmt":"2015-05-29T16:41:25","slug":"historic-scotland-summer-school-ihbc-sc-will-be-there-and-with-10-reductions-for-ihbc-members-will-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=10360","title":{"rendered":"Historic Scotland Summer School: IHBC SC will be there, and with 10% reductions for IHBC members, will you?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><u>The annual summer school run by Historic Scotland offers students the opportunity to gain hands on practical building conservation skills and learn from specialists at first hand, so this year the IHBC is hosting a stand at the networking evening, on 24 June, showcasing the work of the Institute and our members, while a 10% reduction in fees for IHBC members is an added attraction for prospective delegates.<\/u><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>IHBC Scotland Branch Chair Jane Jackson said: \u2018This is a great opportunity for students and specialists to network with colleagues from across the heritage sector, including the IHBC. \u00a0IHBC Branch members will be hosting the IHBC stand and spreading the word about what we do while also discussing the opportunities we offer for volunteers to gain skills within the Scottish Branch.\u2019<strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>IHBC\u2019s LETS officer, Kate Kendall writes:<br \/>\n<\/u>The forthcoming Historic Scotland Summer School is taking place from 22-26 June in Stirling. It is a week-long course which is also available to attend on a day by day basis. \u00a0It is set, as previous years, to be an informative introduction to building conservation and traditional building materials and skills.<\/p>\n<p>The IHBC will be present on the Careers evening on 24 June. IHBC member David Mitchell, Director of Conservation at Historic Scotland, will host the formal presentation part of the evening, which will be followed by a drinks reception.<\/p>\n<p><u>Booking details for IHBC member reductions<br \/>\n<\/u>Any IHBC members interested in attending will be eligible for a 10% reduction in course fees!
