{"id":10180,"date":"2015-05-06T16:56:02","date_gmt":"2015-05-06T15:56:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=10180"},"modified":"2015-05-06T16:56:02","modified_gmt":"2015-05-06T15:56:02","slug":"wg-support-your-high-street-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=10180","title":{"rendered":"WG \u2018Support Your High Street\u2019 campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><u>The Welsh Government (WG) has launched a national campaign to try and encourage people to make the most of their high street and local community facilities.<\/u><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n<p><u>The Welsh Government writes:<br \/>\n<\/u>Communities Minister, Lesley Griffiths, has yesterday\u00a0announced the return of a national campaign encouraging people to use their local high street.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8216;Support Your High Street&#8217; campaign will raise the profile of the vast range of shops and services available on Wales\u2019 diverse and vibrant high streets.\u00a0 Now in its second year, the campaign recognises the valuable contribution busy high streets make to the\u00a0Welsh economy and the vital role they play in community life.<\/p>\n<p>Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty, Lesley Griffiths, said:\u00a0 \u2018Our high streets are the heart of Welsh communities \u2013 providing places to shop and socialise as well as access key services.\u00a0 Last year\u2019s \u2018Support Your High Street Campaign\u2019 was very well received across Wales, with people up and down the country taking part in activities to celebrate their local high streets.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I want to build on this success and encourage even more exciting and colourful events, which is why we will be running the campaign once again this year. I hope people across Wales will get involved and support their excellent local shops and businesses.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The focus of the campaign will be High Street Week, which runs from 19 -26 September.
